Steps to a job in Oman

1. Apply only through an MEA-licensed agency: verify its RA licence on emigrate.gov.in.
2. Interview or trade test: after selection, get an offer letter that states salary, duty hours, food, accommodation and ticket terms.
3. Labour clearance and visa: the Omani employer obtains labour clearance from Oman's Ministry of Labour, and the employment visa is issued through the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
4. Wafid (GAMCA) medical: take the medical in India only at an approved centre.
5. Clearance in India: for ECR passports, eMigrate POE clearance and PBBY insurance are required.
6. After arrival: a medical test in Oman, then your resident card from the ROP.

How much does it cost?

A licensed agency may charge at most ₹30,000 (plus GST) under India's emigration rules, with a receipt. Every Krewex job page states the candidate fee.

Mistakes to avoid

• Never travel on a visit visa to look for work.
• Never pay cash without a receipt, and never hand over your passport as security.
