How to Get a Job in Dubai (UAE) from India: Safe Step-by-Step Process
हिंदी में पढ़ेंThe 7 steps from India to a legal job in Dubai and the UAE: trade proof, licensed agency, offer letter, MOHRE work permit, eMigrate clearance and Emirates ID.
Which jobs are in demand in Dubai and the UAE?
Construction (mason, carpenter, steel fixer), MEP (electrician, plumber, AC technician), drivers, welders and fabricators, hotel and restaurant staff, and helpers. Apply only in the trade you have real experience in, because that is what the trade test checks.
7 steps to a job in Dubai
- Prepare proof of your trade: experience letters, ITI or skill certificates, and photos or videos of your work.
- Check your passport: it should be valid for well over 6 months. With an ECR passport you will also need emigration clearance.
- Apply only through an MEA-licensed agency: check the agency's RA licence number yourself on emigrate.gov.in.
- Clear the interview or trade test: after selection you receive an offer letter that must state salary, duty hours, food, accommodation and ticket terms.
- Work permit and entry permit: the UAE employer obtains your work permit and entry permit (employment visa) from MOHRE, the UAE Ministry of Human Resources.
- Clearance in India: for ECR passports the agency registers your contract on the eMigrate portal and obtains POE clearance. Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana (PBBY) insurance is also required.
- After arriving in the UAE: a medical fitness test, fingerprints for your Emirates ID, and then your residence visa.
How much does it cost?
Under India's emigration rules a licensed agency may charge a candidate a service charge of at most ₹30,000 (plus GST), and must issue a receipt. Many jobs carry no charge at all. Every Krewex job page states the candidate fee for that vacancy.
Mistakes to avoid
- Never go to the UAE on a visit or tourist visa to look for work.
- Never hand over your passport as security, and never pay cash without a receipt.
- Keep copies of your offer letter and contract with you and with your family.
