How a legal Qatar job works: licensed agency, work visa from the employer, medical and biometrics at the Qatar Visa Center (QVC) in India, eMigrate clearance and your QID after arrival.
Which jobs are in demand in Qatar?
Hospitality and catering staff, cleaners, drivers, electricians, plumbers, technicians, masons and helpers for construction, facility management and services companies.
Steps to a job in Qatar
- Apply only through an MEA-licensed agency: verify its RA licence on emigrate.gov.in.
- Interview or trade test: after selection, get an offer letter that states salary, duty hours, food, accommodation and ticket terms.
- Work visa: the Qatari employer applies for your work visa in Qatar.
- Qatar Visa Center (QVC) in India: you visit a QVC for the medical test, fingerprints and to sign your employment contract. Read the contract before signing; it must match your offer letter.
- Clearance in India: for ECR passports, eMigrate POE clearance and PBBY insurance are required.
- After arrival: your employer completes your residence permit and you receive a Qatar ID (QID).
Salary rules
Qatar has a minimum basic wage of QAR 1,000 per month. If the employer does not provide food and housing, it must also pay allowances for them. Always compare your salary slip with your contract.
How much does it cost?
A licensed agency may charge at most ₹30,000 (plus GST) under India's emigration rules, with a receipt. Every Krewex job page states the candidate fee.
Mistakes to avoid
- Never travel on a visit visa to look for work.
- Never sign a contract at the QVC that differs from your offer letter.
- Never pay cash without a receipt, and never hand over your passport as security.
